Deal of the Day: A Boston hotel charges the outdoor temperature on Fridays through March

No matter how much you hate winter's chill, you'll be hoping for cold if you head to Boston this winter. The Colonnade Hotel, a landmark located smack in the middle of the city, has a fun deal they’re calling “Frosty Fridays,” running through March 29, 2017. It goes like this: Book a Friday and Saturday night stay. Check the temperature Friday at 5PM. Your fee for that night’s stay is the exact same as the temperature. The fee for the Saturday night stay is $289.

But the hotel staff knows that even though everyone loves a bargain, not everyone loves the cold, so there are plenty of perks for further enticement. This deal gets you your choice of four tickets for an Old Town Trolley Tour through the city or to the Boston Common Frog Pond ice skating rink (skate rentals included). Then, to warm up, you get access to the hotel’s make-your-own hot chocolate bar. You also get complementary overnight parking on-site.
