In case you haven't heard, Barack Obama will be sworn in as president on January 20. (The Washington Post's Travel Log has a list of tips on getting the best view of the swearing in, and how to find lodgings.)
Expedia has collected several hotels and vacation packages for Washington, D.C. at expedia.com/inauguration.
Here are a couple of examples of hotels with inventory available as of this moment and relatively close to the city's subway system, called the Metro:
