To promote its new direct service from the west coast, LAN Peru is offering a special, very low rate of $499 for travel to Sao Paulo or Rio de Janiero this spring. The trip from Los Angeles to Sao Paulo is about 13-14 hours on a Boeing 767 aircraft; flights from San Francisco or to Rio are slightly longer. A brief re-fueling stop is typically made in Lima.

LAN Peru also offers direct service to Brazil from Miami and New York City. Round-trip airfare in early April is currently $1,600 from Miami and $1,200 from New York City, including airport taxes and fuel surcharges.
