The package includes round-trip airfare on Spirit Airlines and a seven-night stay at an ocean-view studio suite with a kitchenette and patio at the beachfront Reef Resort. Set on the less developed eastern end of the island, the resort has pools, a hot tub, and tennis courts. The staff can arrange diving and snorkeling trips through Ocean Frontiers. Add extra nights for about $90 per person per night.

The airport is about a 45-minute ($50) taxi ride from the resort. Before you go, check the local weather forecast at BudgetTravelOnline.com.

Note that the package's low rate is an example of off-season--or hurricane season--pricing. The island was struck by Hurricane Ivan in 2004. Read Hurricane Essentials to find out what five questions you should ask when booking a Caribbean trip.

In comparison, the lowest round-trip fare we've found in early November is $396 (Delta) from Chicago and $419 (American Airlines) from Washington, D.C. For about $400 more, Jet-A-Way Holidays takes care of the airfare as well as the seven-night stay and hotel taxes.
