Why It's a Deal: In comparison, the lowest round-trip airfare we found recently between Philadelphia and Las Vegas departing on Mar. 11, 2007, is $299 (Frontier). The lowest rate we recently found for a comparable-size room at the pricey Wynn Las Vegas for a March 11-14, 2007, stay is $893 total (or $446 per person, booked via Expedia). That would bring the do-it-yourself total to $745 per person for the three-night stay and airfare. If you book the Leisure Link package, you'll save at least $164 per person after accounting for taxes of $56 on this particular air ticket.
Trip Details: The package includes round-trip airfare on a major carrier (such as American or Delta) to Las Vegas and a three-night stay at the Wynn Las Vegas casino hotel, which has received a five-diamond rating from AAA and a five-star rating from Mobil. The hotel stands at the end of The Strip, a.k.a. Las Vegas Boulevard. It cost $2.7 billion to build and was opened in 2005. Among its extravagances are an artificial mountain and a lobby with parasols that hang from the ceiling and move to music.
This package includes a 630-square-foot room that features beds with pillow-top mattresses, floor-to-ceiling windows with a view of a golf course or the Las Vegas Strip, a flat-screen LCD TV, and a bathroom with a soaking tub and a glass-enclosed shower. Upgrades are from $89 per person.
You'll take a day trip to Primm Valley Casino Resorts, 35 miles south of Las Vegas. Lunch is included.
