Why It's a Deal: In comparison, a recent online search for May 6 departures yielded round-trip fares of $655 to Rome (United/Luftansa); $658 to Bologna (multiple airlines); and $744 to Naples (multiple airlines). Apart from Naples--for which the sale is an especially good deal--these fares are comparable to those of Eurofly. However, they require either one or two stops along the way, whereas Eurofly provides the convenience of a nonstop flight. Also keep in mind that the Eurofly sale becomes a better and better deal as you consider dates in June, July, and August. For instance, a round-trip flight to Naples (with one stop) in mid-August starts at $1,083 (Iberia) compared to a nonstop flight on Eurofly for $739.
Airline Details: Eurofly is a low-cost carrier based in Milan and is the official airline of the FC Inter and AC Milan soccer teams and the Ferrari racing team. Its current sale offers discounted service to Bologna, which grants easy access to Tuscany to the south and Venice to the north, as well as Rome and Naples, convenient jumping-off points for exploring the Amalfi Coast. All flights are nonstop on the Airbus 330-200 fleet.
The airline also provides nonstop service between New York City and Bari, Catania, Lamezia Terme, Palermo, and Pescara. Round-trip fares for May 6 departures are currently $929 for Bari and $939 for Palermo, including the $140 fuel surcharges and with an additional $70 in taxes.
