Why It's a Deal: In comparison, the lowest recent round-trip fare between Los Angeles and Nandi for a July 5, 2007, departure was $1,097 (Qantas). For $876 per person more, this package covers the international airfare and nearly everything else--the five-night stay, all meals, a sunset cruise, transfers, and most of the taxes and fees.

Trip Details: The package includes round-trip, nonstop travel to Nandi (on Air Pacific) and a five-night stay in a roughly 1,000-square-foot bure (a Fijian- style bungalow) at the Kulu Bay Resort on Beqa Island. Each beachfront bungalow features two-person soaking tubs, showers, and a private deck. Extend your stay for $312 per night.

A shell lei and a drink on arrival are included. It takes three hours to travel from the airport to the resort by car and boat.

The resort is adjacent to Beqa Barrier Reef, whose colorful coral draws divers and snorkelers. The resort will prepare and clean any dive gear you bring to the resort, but you'll pay extra to rent gear. Free demonstrations of local customs, such as traditional mat weaving and meke dancing, are offered at the resort. Boat rides to nearby towns and islands roughly cost $5 each way.
