Millennium Hotel Deals from $109
Millennium on View, the visual arts program founded by Millennium Hotels in 2004, partners with museums and cultural institutions around the country to sponsor exhibitions and then create hotel deals around them. This year the company funded shows at arts organizations in seven of the 13 U.S. cities where it owns hotels, such as "WACK! Art and the Feminist Revolution" at L.A.'s Museum of Contemporary Art, and "Picasso and American Art" at the Walker Art Center in Minneapolis, which opens June 16. The Pablo Picasso Package starts at $159 and includes one night's stay, breakfast, and two tickets to the exhibition--early bookers can attend a preview party on June 15. In Chicago, one night at the Knickerbocker hotel and admission for two to the Museum of Contemporary Art begins at $169. The packages, priced from $109, vary by city, exhibition, and date. A New Arts Festival in Toronto from $178
From June 1 to June 10, Toronto will host Luminato, its first annual multigenre arts festival. The series of performances and exhibitions is the brainchild of civic leaders to show off the city's more than $1 billion investment in new cultural venues, including architect Daniel Libeskind's expansion of the Royal Ontario Museum (opening June 2). Luminato highlights include the world premieres of Eric Idle's oratorio based on the Monty Python film Life of Brian, a Leonard Cohen-Philip Glass collaboration, and a play about pianist Glenn Gould. Online ticket sales began April 7, but the city will showcase enough free entertainment to make up for any sold-out performances. Visitors can see art installations dangling from the ceilings of public venues, such as the Great Hall of Union Station, and take in live music shows in the Distillery District without tickets or reservations. Five city hotels have partnered with Luminato to provide special rates during the festival: the Drake Hotel, Pantages Suites Hotel & Spa, Westin Harbour Castle, Park Hyatt Toronto, and Delta Chelsea hotel. Packages start at $178 per night; contact each hotel for details and availability. When: June 1-10 (from $178). Contact: Luminato, luminato.com.
