Why It's a Deal: In comparison, the lowest recent round-trip fare between New York and Paris (returning from Nice) for an April 12, 2007, departure was $829 (multiple airlines). For $299 per person more after taxes, this package covers the international airfare, six nights of lodging, and a seven-day car rental.

Trip Details: The package includes round-trip travel (flying to Paris and returning from Nice) on a major airline, a seven-day, manual-transmission, economy-car rental from Alamo or Hertz, and vouchers to stay for six nights at your choice of up to 300 bed-and-breakfasts and hotels. Upgrade to an automatic car for about $120 per person.

While in Paris, you may want to catch the refurbished Musee de la Mode et du Textile, housed in the Louvre, which is currently featuring an exhibition that traces the history of the collaboration between couturier Jean-Paul Gaultier and choreographer Régine Chopinot, who together designed costumes for 18 ballets from 1983 to 1994.
