Why It's a Deal The special includes a third-night-free offer plus a savings of about 30 percent. The discount and savings are already reflected in the starting rate. To put things in perspective, according to a recent Kayak search, the lowest round-trip airfare between Miami and Montreal starts at $469, including taxes, for weekday departures in early January (Air Canada/US Airways). That's $1 more than the entire Liberty package after taxes, which covers airfare as well as three nights' accommodations, airport-hotel transfers, service fees, fuel surcharges, and all taxes.
Lodging Three nights at the 1,039-room Fairmont Queen Elizabeth situated directly above the Via Rail and Amtrak train station and connected to the underground city in Montreal's cultural and commercial district.
More Extra nights at the Fairmont Queen Elizabeth start at $79 per person per night.
Before You Go Prepare for chilly weather. Average temperatures in January hover around 21 degrees Fahrenheit. That said, winter can be a great time to visit the city, especially for shoppers, thanks to the post-holiday sales and few crowds.
