America's Coolest Small Towns
Think your town is cool, or remember a town from your travels that qualifies? Nominate it below, and be sure to look at our 'five questions you should answer' to improve the town's chances of selection.
How do we define "Coolest Small Town"?
The town must have a population under 10,000—we're talking small towns, not big cities. It's also got to be on the upswing, a place that's beginning to draw attention—and new residents—because of the quality of life, arts and restaurant scene, or proximity to nature. And cool doesn't mean quaint. We want towns with an edge, so think avant-garde galleries, not country stores.

To help you get started, we've come up with some questions for you to answer about your towns:
1. Is there a restaurant that's so amazing it could survive in New York?
2. Where do locals shop for unique clothing, furniture, art, or gifts?
3. Is there a local mascot?
4. What's the weirdest piece of local folklore?
5. Anything else that qualifies as "cool" (i.e. organic coffee shops, wine bars, a hotel in a renovated barn or warehouse)?
