I always request a table for eight on cruises, so I avoid the problem of being stuck at a small table with a couple who can't or won't converse. With six others at the table, there are plenty of people to keep an interesting conversation going. By the second or third dinner, everyone feels like they know each other, and we all seem to have a lot in common. —John F. Dryden, Anderson, S.C. read more tips
