The upgradees
"We're going on a girls' trip to Disneyland for my cousin Mandee's 30th birthday. The four of us are total Disney fanatics, and we couldn't think of a better place to celebrate her milestone." Janelle Sadorra-Kluever, Antioch, Calif.

Using our powers for the good of the people
As kids, Janelle Sadorra-Kluever and Julie Leyva went to Disneyland every year. The sisters, along with their cousin Mandee Mechelhoff and friend Kristi Huerta, who all live in or near Antioch, Calif., now take their own families on annual trips to Disneyland. So when the group started planning Mandee's 30th birthday, there was no question where the party would be held. Since this would be their first visit as adults without husbands and/or kids in tow, we got Disneyland to give the four women a massive suite in Disney's Grand Californian Hotel, a five-course dinner at the hotel's Napa Rose restaurant, manicures and pedicures, and three-day Park Hopper passes. The absolute highlight, though, was a tour of the apartment where Walt Disney and his wife, Lillian, stayed whenever they visited the resort between 1955 and 1966. Walt's apartment--on Main Street, U.S.A., above the Disneyland Fire Department--is off-limits to the public. "It was such an honor to visit Walt's personal space," says Janelle. "His wife was a teacup collector, and so am I--and there's one teacup that we both have!"
