Rent an Italian Villa

A 15th-century Tuscan farmhouse to call your own—for $39 per person a night.

A 15th-century Tuscan farmhouse

Part of an olive-growing estate, Stella del Chianti is on an unpaved road just off SS222, an ancient wine route that stretches from Florence to Siena. The Etruscan village of Castellina in Chianti, with a giant castle, is 10 minutes away.

Florence is 30 miles north.

Siena is 22 miles south.

It took the owners 10 years to restore the four-bedroom property. They exposed original terra-cotta floors, stone walls, and wood-beamed ceilings.

Fashion designer Emanuel Ungaro, a family friend, consulted on the look and feel of the furnishings, which include antique farmhouse tables and Tuscan pottery.

The villa's pool is a respectable 40 feet long. Not pictured: the outdoor wood-burning oven.

The estate's owners live in a farmhouse 40 yards down the road, and the mama cooks for guests upon request for a small fee. Her specialty: homemade pappardelle with pine nuts, thyme, and pecorino cheese.
