'Hood In a fairly quiet residential neighborhood, about eight blocks from Harvard University and 12 from MIT. The location is an easy walking distance from both Inman Square, with funky restaurants and nightlife, and Central Square, with great ethnic eateries and bars.

When you want to stay in, there’s a free full breakfast, parking, and a weekly wine-and-cheese reception. Those ready to go out appreciate the proximity to several Red Line subway stops, which lead across the river to Boston and to other parts of Cambridge.
Rooms Most rooms have full baths and WiFi, and have been made cozy and comfortable with hardwood floors, flat-screen TVs, deep pile towels, and down-alternative three-sheet bedding.
Plus The inn has a small yard—a rarity in crowded Cambridge—and a skylit atrium, and offers free off-street parking (even more rare), daily newspapers, museum passes, and $5 one-day guest passes to a nearby athletic club that has a pool and spa. Guests enjoy snacks like teacakes, fresh fruit, biscotti and beverages throughout the day, and there’s a free wine-and-cheese reception every Thursday.
Minus The free off-street parking is first come, first served, and not guaranteed, (although the inn says there are seldom parking problems.) Two of the lowest-priced rooms share a bath. There’s a $20 nightly surcharge for each additional guest beyond the first.
