About this Hotel
Price From $44
'Hood A 10-minute walk from Lake Nicaragua and three blocks from the restaurant-lined Calle La Calzada. It's a short 50¢ taxi ride to anywhere in the historic center.
The Vibe The pergola-framed entranceway leads to a truly impressive pool framed by fancy Italian-made deck chairs and stylish changing sheds like those found in the seaside town of Rimini, Italy. Husband-and-wife owners Paolo Magnani and Lidia Vivaldi extend this distinctive Mediterranean flair throughout the hotel, setting it apart from local colonial-style competitors.
Rooms The 12 sleek rooms have suede-striped headboards, oil paintings, and the occasional unexpected detail like a red cactus-shaped floor lamp—a reflection of Magnani's funky design tastes.
Plus The vine-draped patio and the poolside bar that serves natural fruit juices and excellent cappuccinos.
Minus Casa Vivaldi doesn't have an on-site restaurant and is a bit farther from town than most other quality hotels. That said, the walk along Calle El Caimito to Parque Central is both safe and pleasant.
Free Wi-Fi? Yes, plus a computer station.
Credit Cards Accepted MC, Visa.
Details Single rooms from $29, double rooms from $44, triples from $59. Pool access for non-hotel guests is $9 per day.
