About this Hotel
Price From $101
'Hood Esquilino, an up-and-coming neighborhood that has many ethnic restaurants and the city's best public transportation options. The B&B is situated between the Papal Basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore and the Roma Termini railway station.
The Vibe The owners want their guests to feel a casa (at home). In fact, the layout of the 18-room B&B itself encourages guests to socialize. Rooms are divided among four apartments; each has a common area where guests share tables at breakfast and during afternoon tea. (Two of the apartments are in a different building a block away.)
Rooms Brightly painted singles, doubles, and triples let in plenty of natural light. Several have beautiful headboards carved by a local craftsman, while others have their own sitting area and loft space. Rooms facing the tree-lined inner courtyard the hotel shares with its neighbors tend to be significantly quieter.
Plus The owners, Lilla and her husband, Elio, have assembled an incredibly friendly and enthusiastic staff, who pay great attention to detail.
Minus The neighborhood may appear seedy at night, but don't be too concerned: it's safer than it looks.
Free Wi-Fi? Yes.
Credit Cards Accepted MC, Visa.
Details Singles from $63, doubles from $101, triples from $114; rates include breakfast.
