'Hood Downtown, just blocks from artsy Yaletown, known for its hip boutiques and restaurants. The hotel is a convenient base for concertgoers—it's situated kitty-corner from the Orpheum, where the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra performs.
The Vibe A modern design aesthetic that lives up to the hotel's fashionable name. The lobby is tailored with red carpets and pewter-colored chairs, silver-bullet side tables, and an elegant French-style chandelier. Underfoot, guests trod on the building's original 1908 mosaic-tile flooring, which also remains intact in some guest bathrooms.
Rooms Fifty-seven in total, ranging from doubles to suites to pint-size junior rooms intended for solo travelers. As in the lobby, the look is simple yet bold, with crimson-colored walls and rugs, and local nature scenes and cityscapes by photographer Michael Easton. Another nice touch: complimentary travel-themed fortune cookies and eye masks.
Plus The happening hotel houses three popular neighborhood hangouts: Cibo Trattoria, Uva Wine Bar, and the Red Card Sports Bar & Eatery.
Minus The difficulty of scoring a reservation at Cibo Trattoria, one of Vancouver's hottest restaurants. Despite the delicious libations and meals served on the premises, Moda doesn't offer room service.
