On a sunny street corner near San Telmo, a neighborhood known for its tango halls and antiques dealers, the latest property from the Madrid-based Room Mate chain makes the most of its grand, eight-story space. All of the 57 rooms are loftlike, with large windows and open floor plans, and some are duplexes with 16-foot-high ceilings. Spanish interiors expert Tomás Alía designed the hotel, which opened in June, and his signature style comes through in mid-century-inspired sunburst lamps, curved banquettes, and off-kilter side tables that resemble colorful hunks of quartz.
