Why It's a Deal A recent Kayak search shows the lowest round-trip airfare between New York City and New Orleans starts from $209 in mid-January (United Airlines). Add to that $132 per person without taxes for two nights at Hotel Provincial, $180 per person with taxes for two nights at the Hilton Baton Rouge Capitol Center, $62 per person with taxes for one night at Comfort Suites Lafayette, and $131 per person with taxes for one night at the Hilton New Orleans Riverside, and you're already spending $714 on airfare and accommodations alone. If you were going to rent a car and visit these cities yourself, you would also need to budget $390 per person for a seven-day car rental (quote taken from Enterprise Car Rental), bringing your total to $1,104 per person. For $145 more than that, this travel package gives you all the same perks, plus several guided tours, most meals, and includes all transfers, transportation, taxes, and fees.

More Several optional tours are also available, including a half-day guided trip to the Laura Plantation for a look at the Louisiana's Creole cultural history for $59 per person and a full-day trip to see the historic antebellum mansions of Natchez for $59 per person.
