There couldn't be a greater contrast between this futuristic, 11-month-old hotel and the art nouveau architecture of the surrounding L'Eixample neighborhood. It's like 2001: A Space Odyssey meets the turn of the 20th century. Splashes of purple punctuate the 56 otherwise white guest rooms, and the hot-pink breakfast hall, with its curved ceilings and mid-century molded-plastic chairs, feels like the flight deck of a cartoon spaceship.
