Hotel Narain Niwas Palace retains the original paintings and art deco furnishings from its former life as the country retreat of Amar Singh. Of the 37 rooms, 11 are suites; each is individually decorated, several with four-poster beds, chandeliers, and intricately painted archways. The on-site restaurant is a particular draw, as many of the Rajasthani recipes used—like the one for dal bati, dumplings with a lentil curry—were collected by Singh through the first half of the 20th century.
