On sleepy Ma Wan, an island 25 minutes by ferry from Hong Kong Island, the city's newest family attraction has thrill rides, gardens, a beach, and...an ark. That's right, the Hong Kong billionaire Kwok brothers behind the complex created the world's only full-scale replica of Noah's pet project done to biblical specs. They filled it with a nature museum, a waterside restaurant, and model animals—in pairs, of course. The top floor is devoted to 43 appealingly theme-free rooms whose terraces face the sea and Tsing Ma Bridge, illuminated by night.
Free Wi-Fi? No.
Credit Cards Accepted AmEx, MC, Visa.
Details Doubles from $72, hostel-style rooms (sleeping four to eight people) from $77, including breakfast. Ark ticket packages start at $7.
