The Gist A former 19th-century hat factory, this three-floor building features traditional dark wood British decor. The tidy and quiet 30 guest rooms provide blond-wood floors and white linens. Part of the economy chain of Fuller's Hotels, The Mad Hatter offers a traditional English pub for dining. A full breakfast is included in the rate. One catch: Travelers who dislike walking will need to use public transportation or hire a cab to get to iconic tourist sites, such as Big Ben.
