Coast Coal Harbour Hotel

About this Hotel

Price From $179

'Hood This hotel looks out on Coal Harbour and the fog-enshrouded North Shore Mountains. It's three blocks from the waterfront and a mile from Gastown, full of clever design shops like Parliament and Nood.

The Vibe A 220-room hotel saved from corporate anonymity by pleasing features, such as a green glass ceiling that soars over the hotel entrance, floor-to-ceiling windows, and earth tones throughout.

Rooms The selling point is simple: windows that face the water or forested Stanley Park. For the best vantage point, request a room on the 17th floor or higher. The unobtrusive decor consists of white linens and leather headboards, beige armchairs, and subtle turquoise accents.

Plus Prestons, a Euro-Asian restaurant on the second floor, offers around-the-clock room service.

Minus Although there's a spacious gym and a hot tub, the outdoor heated pool is so cramped that two lap swimmers would find it a tight squeeze.

Free Wi-Fi? Yes.

Credit Cards Accepted AmEx, Discover, MC, Visa.

Details Doubles from $179, superior rooms with a sitting area and a sofa bed from $219.
