About this Hotel

Price From $80

'Hood Deep in the heart of Monti, a picturesque area known for its boutiques, restaurants, and wine bars. The hotel is just one block from Piazza Madonna dei Monti, a popular square for socializing and people-watching.

The Vibe The outgoing staff gives this modest, family-run hotel a warm atmosphere; manager Alessandro goes above and beyond to make his guests feel at home.

Rooms The 20-room Grifo can accommodate groups of various sizes, as some rooms come with three or four beds. The furnishings are simple, even verging on drab. Make the most of it by booking a room with a private terrace, outfitted with a table and chairs.

Plus The location is fantastic—just a short walk from the Forum and the Colosseum—and the staff is extremely helpful and hospitable. The views over Monti's roofs from the terrace are lovely, and the lobby bar stays open around-the-clock.

Minus Narrow hallways and small rooms, with the occasional nick in the paint or furniture.
