In a city with so many high-concept boutique hotels, an intimate, low-key B&B adds a breath of fresh air. Interior designer and New York native Pamela Murphy opened the six-room Garden Buenos Aires in 2008, in a century-old San Telmo residence, and set about outfitting the four standard rooms with colorful bedspreads, original artwork, and Danish wood-frame chairs. Behind the main house, past the ivy-draped courtyard where breakfast is served on warm days, two detached suites have generous living areas and private entrances—perfect for pretending you’re a transplant here, too.
