While the newly renovated Ben Yehuda Apartments ace the contemporary cosmopolitan look, they're no cooke-cutter accommodations. Black-and-white photos of Tel Aviv icons such as the marina or the Jaffa Clock Tower hang in each one-sometimes even standing in for wall-spanning headboards-giving the 46 rooms the sense of place that's often missing in modern interiors. Of course, owner Adi Madanes would rather see guests explore the landmarks in person, so he arranges free guided walking tours (in English) that are centered on themes such as Bauhaus highlights of the White City or the archaeological sites of Old Jaffa.
