Why It's a Real Deal A recent Kayak search shows that the lowest multicity, round-trip airfare from Los Angeles to Kuching, Malaysia, and Bangkok, Thailand, starts from $1,417 per person in February and March (Air China). Add to that $270 per person including taxes for two nights at the Hilton Kuching Hotel, $208 per person including taxes for two nights at the Hilton Batang Ai Longhouse Resort, and $772 per person including taxes for four nights at the Rembrandt Hotel in Bangkok, and you'd be spending $2,667 for air and accommodations alone. For $569 less, this package covers your airfare, eight nights in deluxe or superior accommodations, many meals, intra-Asia transportation and transfers, an English-speaking tour guide, and fuel surcharges.
More Several optional tours are available, including a tour of Bangkok's Grand Palace for $55, a Thai cultural show at the Ratchada Grand Theatre for $56, or a day-trip tour of the Damnoen Saduak market and the Bridge over the River Kwai, including a boat ride along the canal, lunch at a local restaurant overlooking the Kwai, and a trip to the JEATH museum that honors the lives of the 8,000 Ally POWs who died constructing the Death Railway during WWII ($110). Pre-tour extensions are also available for Kuala Lumpur (from $299) or Phuket Island (from $449).
