Why It’s a Deal A recent search on Kayak showed that the lowest round-trip airfare between San Francisco and Beijing starts from $947 with taxes for travel in mid-January (Air China). Add to that $58 per person, including taxes and fees, for three nights at the Holiday Inn Express Shanghai Zhabei; $35 per person for one night at the Taishan Hotel; $25 per person for one night at the Litian Hotel; and $166 per person for three nights at the Jade Palace Hotel, and your total for airfare and accommodations alone is $1,231 when booked separately.
