Why It's a Deal According to a recent Kayak search, air from Los Angeles to Shanghai, with a return flight from Hong Kong, starts at $811 in early December (United). Add to that $196 per person for three nights at the Shanghai Mansions Hotel, $110 for two nights at the Grand Noble Xi'an, $203 for three nights at the Beijing International Hotel, and $315 for three nights at the Park Hotel Hong Kong, and the total would be $1,635 per person just for international airfare and accommodation, taxes and fees included. For just $264 more, this package gets you the same international flights, eleven nights in four Chinese cities, and all taxes and fees—plus three domestic flights, ground transportation, fifteen meals, and a touring package with entrance fees to some of the country's most renowned sights.
More Additional pre-tour nights are available at the Broadway Mansions Shanghai from $90 per room, per night, and post-tour nights are available at the Park Hotel Hong Kong from $250 per room, per night. In additional to the included tours, Friendly Planet offers an optional excursion package at $165 extra per person.
