Why It's a Deal A recent search on Kayak showed that the lowest round-trip airfare from New York to Cairo starts from $849 with taxes for travel in mid-September (SWISS). Add to that $375 per person, including tax, for a four-night Nile cruise aboard the King of Thebes and $221 per person for two nights at the Oasis Hotel, and you'd be paying $1,445 for just the airfare and accommodations. For just $174 more, this package covers the flight, two nights' hotel accommodations, a four-night Nile River cruise with sightseeing excursions, a domestic Egyptian flight, 15 meals, round-trip transfers, and all taxes and fees.

More Additional excursions/activities are available for a fee, including shore excursions that visit the Aswan High Dam, the Temple of Horus, the Necropolis of Thebes, and the West Bank, for $299 per person. Extend your stay in Cairo from $65 per person per night, based on double occupancy, plus a $50 air supplement. Upgrade your hotel from $50 per person or your cruise from $27 per person.
