Why It's A Deal On a recent Kayak search, we found airfare between Los Angeles, the Big Island, and Maui for $365 in early January (American Airlines). Flights between Kona and Maui start at $59. Add that to about $219 for a three-night stay in a partial ocean-view room at the Royal Kona Resort, plus about $390 for a three-night stay in a partial ocean-view room at the Kaanapali Beach Hotel, and you'd pay at least $1,033 for airfare and accommodations if you booked independently. For $138 less, this deal gets you all the same inclusions, plus the convenience of one-stop shopping.
