Why It’s a Deal A recent search on Kayak showed that the lowest round-trip airfare from New York to Amman starts from $868 with taxes for travel in early December (Egypt Air). Add to that $310 per person, including tax, for four nights at Amman Cham Palace, $120 for two nights at Petra Panorama Hotel, and $80 for one night at Holiday Inn Dead Sea, and you’d be paying $1,378 for just the airfare and accommodations. For $541 more, this vacation package covers the flight and seven nights’ hotel accommodations, plus sightseeing ground transportation, an English-speaking guide, 10 meals, all transfers, and all taxes and fees.
