Why It’s a Deal A recent search on Kayak showed that the lowest round-trip airfare between New York City and Nairobi starts from $1,066 with taxes for travel in late March (Virgin Airlines). Add to that $362 per person, including tax, for three nights at InterContinental Hotel Nairobi, about $175 per person for one night at Lake Naivasha Sopa Resort, and $350 per person for two nights at Keekorok Lodge, and you’d be paying $1,953 for airfare and accommodations.
