Why It’s a Deal A recent Kayak search showed that the lowest round-trip airfare between Chicago and the Riviera Maya starts from $302 with taxes for travel in mid-August (Delta). Add to that $328 per person, including taxes and fees, for three all-inclusive nights at Real Playa del Carmen, and your total for airfare and accommodations alone is $630 when booked separately. For $53 less, this United Vacations package includes airfare, accommodations, meals and drinks.
More Hotel upgrades are available at the Real Playa del Carmen for $24 per person, as well as at several other area hotels, starting at $70 per person. Extend your stay up for an additional $66 per person per night (based on quad occupancy) or $181 per person per night for single occupancy. Travelers can also earn 2,000 bonus miles, on top of credited flight miles, through United’s Mileage Plus program. And, if you book certain room categories, up to two children 12 and under can stay and eat for free.
