Why It's a Deal According to a recent search on Kayak, round-trip airfare between New York City and Pisa starts from $821 with taxes for travel in late April and early May (Alitalia). Add to that $553 per person for six nights, including hotel taxes and breakfast, at the Grand Hotel Plaza in Montecatini, and about $168 per person, including estimated taxes, for a seven-day mid-size car rental, and your total would be $1,542 if you were to book the components of the package separately. For $136 less, this Gate 1 Travel package includes the round-trip international flight, six nights' hotel with breakfast daily, seven-day car rental, all taxes and fees—plus the convenience of one-stop shopping.
More Optional activities are not offered with this package. Additional nights at the Grand Hotel Plaza are about $75 per person per night.
