Why It’s a Deal We did a quick search on Kayak to compare the cost of airfare and found that the lowest round-trip fares between New York City and Washington, D.C., start from $199 with taxes for travel in late March (JetBlue). Add to that $399 per person, including taxes, for three nights at the St. Gregory Luxury Hotel and Suites if booked directly through the hotel, and you’d be paying $598 for air and accommodations. For $7 less, this CheapOair package covers the airfare, as well as three nights’ accommodations, all taxes and fees, plus the convenience of one-stop shopping. The savings may be even greater from other gateway cities. For instance, a Kayak search between Atlanta and D.C. yielded a starting fare of $402 (U.S. Airways), suggesting that travelers based in Atlanta would save $190 by booking this package.
More Optional activities include a Washington, D.C., Duck Tour (about $33 per person) or a tour of the city at night ($36 per person). Room-only packages at the St. Gregory Luxury Hotel and Suites are $684 per room for three nights (about $342 per person), based on double occupancy; no single supplement. Rates for additional nights vary. CheapOair offers airfare from New York City from $153 per person for travel from March 22 to 29.
