Kimpton Hotels gives free upgrades. As part of its Summer Playground promotion, Kimpton is doling out complimentary room upgrades if you hula-hoop for 20 seconds at check-in, or play Rock, Paper, Scissors (and win). For travel from May 22 to Sept. 7, the Summer Playground package starts at $199 per room per night and includes a $25 credit, plus a free in-room movie with popcorn. Use promo code PLGD. (kimptonhotels.com)
Hotels.com Memorial Day promo. Get up to 50 percent off and a $50 prepaid MasterCard card if you book a three-night stay or longer by May 25 for travel between May 21 and May 27. (hotels.com/memorialdaysale)
BookIt.com is giving away a free BlackBerry or other smartphone or music phone (but not an iPhone) with any booking on its website. To get the deal, reserve a flight, hotel stay, travel package, or car rental, activate a new line of mobile phone service, and sign up for a new 2-year subscriber agreement through one of the top four providers (bookit.com)
ANOTHER INTERESTING DEAL:
InterContinental's Biggest Free Nights program. If you stay at any IHG property for two nights from now until July 3, you'll also receive a free night at one of the 4,000-plus hotels worldwide. The two qualifying nights don't have to be consecutive or within the same brand (choose among InterContinental Hotels & Resorts, Holiday Inn, Holiday Inn Express, Hotel Indigo, Staybridge Suites, Candlewood Suites, and the Crowne Plaza). The free nights are redeemable from July 3 to Dec. 26. Register at getafreenight.com.
