Of course Virginia Beach’s beautiful stretches of sand are the main attraction here, but we also love that Town Center is a vibrant, walkable neighborhood where families will find great dining, entertainment, shopping, and incredible summer festivals celebrating the area’s music, food, and arts scene.

Virginia Beach offers the summer of a lifetime for every member of the family, from the amusement park and boardwalk of the Resort Beach to the gentle surf (and great fishing!) at Chesapeake Bay Beach to the solace of Sandbridge Beach.

Vacation is a good time to try something new, right? Well, iFLY lets you and your kids try skydiving, but without having to jump out of a plane. The indoor vertical wind tunnel creates a cushion of air that lets you safely “dive” and float to the ground. What a feeling!

We think a quiet, mellow kayak ride is the best way to explore False Cape State Park.

When the kids (or the grownups!) are ready to get nose-to-nose with sea life, the Virginia Aquarium & Marine Science Center provides ample live animal habitats that spotlight the incredible diversity of Virginia’s undersea ecosystem.

Not every coastal city can boast a world-class museum. The Virginia Museum of Contemporary Art (MOCA) provides one-stop shopping for art lovers, with gallery exhibitions, studio art classes, education programs, and (appropriately enough for such a beautiful natural setting) outdoor art shows.

Grownups and kids will adore the jaw-dropping views of Chesapeake Bay Beach from atop Cape Henry Lighthouse.

Virginia Beach has some of the most creative locals anywhere in the U.S., and the ViBe Creative Districtbrings them together to inspire their community and visitors with incredible crafts and other creative industries.

Topgolf is a blast for every member of the family, from little ones who enjoy the fun of easy point-scoring games and great food to grownups who want to channel their inner Tiger Woods or just polish their skills. One of Virginia Beach's premier spots for parties and celebrations, Topgolf truly has something for everyone.

In summer, the sun stays up over Sandbridge Beach well into the evening, giving families one last beach visit before sinking happily into their pillows to rest up for the next day’s fun.

There's something for every member of the family in Virginia Beach during the summer months, from frolicking in the surf and sand to cool local history and natural wonders.
