A nifty deal on ski passes
As I write this, it's hot and muggy outside, so skiing is pretty much the last thing on my mind. I just learned, though, about a cool season pass offered by Vail Resorts. It's called the Epic Season Pass, and it gets you in all season at any of the company's resorts (Vail, Beaver Creek, Keystone, and Breckenridge in Colorado, and Heavenly in Lake Tahoe).
Unlike lots of season passes, it doesn't have any blackout dates, which is nice if you're planning a holiday trip. Also, it costs $579, which is about $1,000 less than what the unlimited, unrestricted pass cost last year.
With one-day lift tickets climbing ever closer to $100 (last year a one-day pass at Vail was $92), you'd only have to ski for a total of a week to make this pass worthwhile. I'm not a sales-pitch-y kind of girl, but I have to say, this sounds like a pretty great deal.
