Where to Do Free Yoga For National Yoga Month
September is National Yoga Month, and what better way to celebrate than with free yoga events around the country?
More than 1,600 yoga studios around the country are offering one free week of yoga for new students—visit the website, choose a studio, print out the card, and redeem once between Sept. 1st and Oct. 30th. Athleta, the sporty sister company of Gap and Old Navy, offers free classes at its many stores around the country—check the website to find times and locations near you—as does Lululemon Athletica—find a store location and click on "community events" to view a calendar of available classes.
Wanderlust: Yoga in the City will take place in three U.S. cities this month. The events are free and open to the public, but make sure you register for a spot through the website. Space is limited to the first 1,000 people who sign up.
•Los Angeles: Sunday, September 9th, at Santa Monica Pier from 1 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
Register online for the 1:30 p.m. or 4 p.m. class.
•New York City: Sunday, September 9th, at Pier 63 in Hudson River Park from 1:15 p.m. to 6 p.m.

•San Francisco: Sunday, September 23rd, at Little Marina Green from 12:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.

A number of free yoga classes are also being offered in Chicago, including the Pure Wellness Expo in Lincoln Park on Saturday, Sept. 29th.
For aspiring yogis on the road, Kimpton Hotels offers guests complimentary use of a mat, exercise bands, and other yoga props—just ask for a tote bag at the front desk. Affinia Hotels in New York City, Miami, and Washington D.C. also supply guests with similar materials, plus yoga workout DVDs for additional inspiration.
The W Hotel Atlanta-Buckhead offers free yoga classes every Tuesday from Sept. 11 thru Oct. 30 from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Classes are only open to guests, but the hotel is currently offering a special weekend room rate starting at $139 per night with promo code WELPKG.
